Place to be

And I was green, greener than a hill
Where flowers grew and the sun shone still
Now I’m darker than the deepest sea
Just hand me down, give me a place to be.

  2. Sorrowful and yet so true words. And a beautiful picture to match them. I wish you find the place, a peaceful Christmas and all the best.

    • Yes, it’s the words that really drew me to this overtly sentimental shot…
Thanks so much Sifrim, and I hope you had a warm and comforting Christmas.

  5. Very solid stuff, JP. I like both the image and the words very much – and they go together well. I like the way the colours of the little birds are echoed in the paler patches of the ?pavement. Excellent – you’re really getting deep with these posts, and that’s something I don’t tire of at all. Adrian

    • I must admit that I never intended to use this one, it’s a bit too sentimental – even for me! But, I don’t know, it’s Christmas and I suppose the sentimentality is excusable this time of year, LOL. Glad you liked it though!

  7. Sentimental is my middle name, man. And the things we pass by on the road & no one pays attention to are the things that stuck in my mind. It’s just the same with your great imagery, Jean-Pierre. They stuck in my eyes & mind. They are haunting me & I can’t get rid off them. Like ghosts following me everywhere I go. Like companions on these gravel roads. Like allies always just there. Amd that does not only look great but feels much greater. Thanks, my friend!

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

    • Yeah, it’s like you said, man. All those lost shapes next to the road, getting stuck in one’s mind, that’s so how it is. I can’t help but notice them, and treasuring them…Like companions, keeping you safe in yourself. Thanks for journeying with me, my friend.
