Bad liver and a broken heart

Well I got a bad liver and a broken heart
yea I drunk me a river since you tore me apart
and I don’t have a drinking problem
cept when I can’t get a drink

I been chippied I been chumped
on my stool
so buy this fool, some spirits and libations
in these railroad station bars

  2. Brother of mine you’re breaking my heart. Tom Waits & this gorgeous image of yours. A hundred songs running through my brain:

“And I’m blinded by the neon / Don’t try and change my tune / I thought I heard a saxophone / I’m drunk on the moon” (Tom Waits)

I’m drunk in your blue colours & fading light. I’m stuck in your imagery & can’t get out. Don’t want to get out. So go ahead & fill me up with beauty & stories because I won’t leave this bar tonight until I get my fill.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

    • Ah man, you have no idea how much I love that line, how I live and breathe that line…Yeah, let’s toast, and then have another drink, the night is still young…Cheers, brother.

  3. Cool words to a cool shot! Tom Waits lived in my neighborhood when I lived in Nor California. What a character and great song writer.

  8. Good stuff, JP – both you and me drinking too much! Excellent words and picture to go with them! The only solid thing in the picture is the bottle, the rest looks pale and insubstantial – the bottle is all, my friend! Adrian
