Alone with everybody

I hold this letter in my hand
A plea, a petition, a kind of prayer
I hope it does as I have planned
Losing her again is more than I can bear
I kiss the cold, white envelope
I press my lips against her name
Two hundred words. We live in hope
The sky hangs heavy with rain

– Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

It’s been a bad run, I’ve had a bad run. But, all this will change soon though. I can feel that wave coming, soon it will be what it is, simply a bad run. Project ‘Nowhereville’ will take to the road, and through it’s intended search of lost memories new beginnings will be made, new directions will be found. All that remains is  17 days, and if you would like to add some much needed & much appreciated fuel to the tank, please do so, as I desperately need some assistance in order to make this search possible.

Right, so let’s do this thing, let’s go out and see what we can find, let’s go out and remember…

JP, I’d like to contribute a little to your project, but would rather not give info to that site, because I’m paranoid about that stuff. Do you have a paypal account?

    • Hi James. Yeah, I get the paranoia, no worries there. That is so kind of you, thanks man, it would be ever so much appreciated as things seem to have stalled for the moment. Right, so I’ll send you an email later today with my paypal details. Thanks again, it really is very kind of you.

  2. awesome series JP. love the art on walls, and the empty streets that look lived in.

  3. These are beautiful, Jean-Pierre. A new palette with a feeling of sadness. You know I like the bench; the wall behind it looks so overbearing, but beautiful too.
A bad run. I hope its over. Take care, Jean-Pierre. Take heart.

  5. Another cool series. And yes, we do share some of the same sources of inspiration for photo subjects – and looks like music also – you inclusion of a Nick Cave lyric is proof of that. Peace. 🙂

    • Ah, so a Nick Cave fan then? Great stuff! Thanks also for the compliment.

  6. Wonderful series JP. I like the last image. I imagine it as a time-travel capsule – the tall mast next to it helps guide the way.

    • Wow, like the imagination there! Yes indeed, why not? Thanks, Meanderer.

  9. Jean-Pierre, this is an incredible selection of images.
The tones really speak to me, I find them both hearwrenching and soothing. As with the title, beautiful contradictions happening.

    • Thanks so much, Karen. And yes, that’s what I’m constantly after, looking for contradictions wherever I can find them. I guess I appreciate the balance, in a way the harmony they create…

  13. All the small things & this lonesomeness are our companions these days. In between broken cars, lonely hotel nights, more miles than money but a song to sing to keep us out of the rain. And photographs that won’t leave my head. Stuck in beauty, my friend. Just another guy on that lost highway!

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
